Senior move management in Dallas
A move with dignity, direction, and room for what matters.
A Weight Lifted helps older adults and their families downsize and move in Dallas, North Dallas, the Park Cities, and select nearby suburbs. Your transition director can plan the whole move with you or help with one part, such as sorting a room or setting up your new home.

Can I downsize and stay in my home?
Yes. You might start with a kitchen where the things you use every day have become hard to reach. Together we can decide what stays close at hand, which pieces to offer to family, and what you’re ready to donate. You can start with a single room, at your own pace.

How can I help my parent from another city?
We start by asking your parent which decisions they want to make and who should receive updates. A transition director can coordinate the work at the Dallas-area home and bring you in when a decision needs your input. If the move begins or ends here, we can also coordinate with family and providers at the other end.
Before the move
Begin with what will fit and what matters most
If a move comes sooner than expected, tell us the move-in date and when the former home needs to be empty. Those dates can be weeks apart. We can help you plan what needs to travel on move day and which decisions can wait until you’re settled.
- Identify what you’ll need the first night
- Plan furniture placement around the space in your new home
- Set aside meaningful belongings for family
- Arrange donation, storage, sale, or removal for remaining items
Through move day
One plan, with the right details connected
Your transition director coordinates packing, access to both homes, and the move-day schedule. Appropriately licensed movers transport your belongings. Your written scope identifies their services and costs separately so you know who is responsible for each part.
- A written scope, sequence, and estimate before work begins
- Updates for the family members you choose
- Packing and preparation within the agreed plan
- Move-day oversight and help when plans change
At the new home
Make the first night feel possible
Tell us what makes the space feel like yours. That might mean setting up the bedroom first, putting the coffee pot where you can find it in the morning, or hanging a familiar picture near your favorite chair.
- Unpack and place the essentials you choose
- Set up everyday rooms and arrange furniture
- Place meaningful objects where you want them
- Clear packing materials from the rooms you need first
While you settle in, our belongings and home clearout service can handle what remains at your former home, from arranging donation pickups to coordinating cleaning and the handoff of items to family.

Where should we start?
Tell us what’s changing, where the home is, and any date you’re working toward. We’ll talk through your priorities and arrange a walkthrough to see what the work involves. You can review how we prepare your estimate before you get in touch.
